Four Generations. One Grove.
In 1885, Vincenzo planted the first olive tree on this land โ a few kilometres from the sun-baked coast of southern Italy. Four generations later, his great-granddaughter Arianna still tends these trees with the same care, harvesting olives that have been shaped by the same soil, the same wind, and the same unyielding Apulian sun for over a century.
The masseria โ a fortified farmhouse dating to the 13th century โ remains the heart of production. Inside its thick stone walls, olives are pressed within five hours of harvest, preserving every note of flavour and every milligram of polyphenol. This urgency is what separates genuine extra virgin olive oil from ordinary oil, and it is a principle the family has never compromised.
Arianna studied economics in Rome and business in the Netherlands before returning to her roots. As a certified EVOO sommelier, she now guides visitors through the art of olive oil tasting โ the same rigorous methodology used by professional judges, applied with warmth, humour, and deep family storytelling. Her fluency in both the science and the soul of olive oil makes every tasting a genuinely educational experience.
The women who sang to these trees at harvest gave the family its spirit. That spirit lives in the oil โ in the peppery finish of the Coratina, the smooth roundness of the Ogliarola, and the grassy brightness of the early-harvest blend. When you visit, you taste not just olive oil, but a way of life that is rapidly disappearing from the world.

The masseria
Masseria Cantasole sits in the open countryside between Ostuni and Brindisi โ approximately 15 minutes from Brindisi airport and 30 minutes from Ostuni and Lecce. The estate grows several traditional olive cultivars, including Coratina, Ogliarola Barese, and a small parcel of centenarian trees whose fruit is pressed separately into a limited-edition oil available exclusively on-site.
The property includes the original 13th-century stone farmhouse, a working olive mill, and shaded outdoor areas overlooking the grove where the tasting and aperitivo are held. Free parking is available for all guests.
